If your lucky you get a private for just you and your roommate or maybe you get a suite for you and three other people. But many times at least for freshman you get community baths.<br /><br />Some people (girls especially) freak out when they hear those words. But I promise that community bathrooms are not that bad. We've had to use them this entire year. The best part is they are where you see all the people on your hall and make conversation. Its fun to sing along with the radio or whatever is playing in the bathroom and especially when others join in.<br /><br />So, if you get a community bathrooom don't freak out! Enjoy getting to know the girls on your hall!</span>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6380485416649953889.post-6016422549254594422010-02-09T17:30:00.001-08:002010-02-09T17:38:21.265-08:00#3 Don't Hold Grudges<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana;">I (Jackie again) have a problem with this. It's not that I want to, or that I even realize it most of the time, but I tend to hold some minor grudges.</span><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana, serif;"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana, serif;">When I see people that have rejected me in some way (there are three in particular on campus who I tend to do this the most to), I do my best to look like I'm so happy and having the time of my life without them. If I know I might run into these people, I make sure I look at least decent and that I'm smiling and laughing with my friends. If I somehow end up in their line of sight and I'm alone, I hope they don't notice me and pretend to text on my phone so they don't think I'm a loser (After writing that down, I sound so incredibly petty...yikes).</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana, serif;"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana, serif;">My point is, grudges are <b>not </b>good for you. They eat you up inside, and you become obsessed with proving yourself to a person you probably shouldn't care about and may not ever have to deal with again in your life. You're only hurting yourself because the person you're holding a grudge against may not even care.</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana, serif;"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:'times new roman';"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">"Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as Christ God forgave you." Ephesians 4:32</span></span></div>Jackiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16231150045968682298noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6380485416649953889.post-77700993117791907832010-02-04T17:15:00.001-08:002010-02-04T17:24:30.399-08:00#2 Naps Are Your New Best Friend<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana;">There is absolutely nothing better than a nap when you're in college. I (Jackie) am one of those people who likes to get classes over with in the morning, so I try to have mostly early classes (I have a 1:00 M/W class this semester because it's my JMC course and that was the earliest time it was offered! Bugs me so much...)</span><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana, serif;"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana, serif;">Anywhos, early classes means getting out of bed way before I want to (I'm a morning person, but only after I'm out of the bed. Before I get up, I'm totally wanting to kill my alarm clock). And if I don't go to bed on time, then I'm super tired. I'll be mostly okay through my classes, but as soon as I get out of class, I just want to crash.</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana, serif;"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana, serif;">So I do. I head back to my dorm room, change into PJ pants and one of those guys' white V-necks that Hane's makes (most comfortable shirts ever), get in my bed, and take a nap. </span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana, serif;"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana, serif;">How long the nap is depends on what I have to do the rest of the day, homework, etc., but it's normally around an hour and a half/two hours. And it feels <i>sooooo</i> good.</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana, serif;"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana, serif;">So here's the tip: when you're super-tired and you have extra time, take a nap. There's nothing wrong with naps...in fact, they're good for you! It's a total recharge for the rest of your day. </span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana, serif;"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana, serif;">Just don't nap away the afternoon if you have a big test or paper due the next day. That would be a bad idea. Just sayin'</span></div>Jackiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16231150045968682298noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6380485416649953889.post-5373860800227167572010-01-29T19:50:00.001-08:002010-01-29T19:55:53.596-08:00#1 If You Are Not Lucky Enough to Live on a Floor With a Laundry Machine...<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana;">find a friend who does and use them for their room so you don't have to trudge up and down stairs with heavy loads of laundry a bazillion times (Jackie).</span><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana, serif;"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana, serif;">Trust me, having a friend on laundry level is a lifesaver. I should know...this is why my best friend is my best friend.</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana, serif;"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:georgia;">Haha...you better be kidding!</span></div><div><br /></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana;">Of course, I am! *blush* Yeah, that's totally not the reason...just one of them.</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana, serif;"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:georgia;">Okay...I'm fine with that.</span></div><div><br /></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana;">Okay, so anyway, laundry is something we all have to deal with, so take my advice and find a friend's room to hang out in while doing laundry. It is <b>such</b> a relief (</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:georgia;">*ahem*)</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana;">...um, I mean, <i>blessing</i> to have a friend on laundry level.</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana, serif;"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:georgia;">And if you're lucky enough to live on laundry level, laugh mercilessly at the poor students who live on the fifth floor.</span></div><div><br /></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana;">See! I knew you had an evil side...</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana, serif;"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:georgia;">I hang around you, don't I?</span></div><div><br /></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana;">Touche...</span></div>Jackiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16231150045968682298noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6380485416649953889.post-83993327068971286222010-01-29T19:41:00.000-08:002010-01-29T19:48:09.106-08:00Hello From Birmingham, Alabama!<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: medium;">I'm Jackie!</span></span><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana, serif;"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:georgia;">And I'm Ruth Anne!</span></div><div><br /></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:'times new roman';">We're currently freshmen in our second semester at Samford University, and trust us, we learned </span><b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:'times new roman';">so</span></b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:'times new roman';"> much from last semester that we went home for break absolutely set to BURST!
